Save Don’t Splurge! My Top 10 Beauty Faves All Under 10 Dollars

#1: L’Oreal True Match Foundation

 true match

This foundation is amazing.  So much so, that I actually prefer it over most of my much higher priced department store brands.  It gives medium-to-full coverage, goes on smoothly, and comes in a ton of colours to fit any skin tone.  Even cooler, is that this line also includes blush, powders, and concealers  that all match your foundation number. You can visit the L’Oreal website here, and can purchase it for less than $10.00 at Target.

#2: Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter

Lip Butter

Providing amazing pigmentation and moisture, Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter is both luxurious and affordable.  This line has a wide variety of colours that is continually growing.  My personal faves: Cotton Candy, a pretty light pink, and Lollipop, a beautiful bright fuchsia.  Check out the website here, or purchase them here.

#3: Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strips

nail polish stripsI’ll admit, my first try at applying these nail polish strips took longer than I would have liked.  However, the amount of time they lasted made it completely worth it: upwards of 10 days without a single chip!  They come in a wide variety of patterns and designs, and include extra strips to allow for mistakes (or even for accent nails on your next manicure!)  One of my favourite designs is “Love Letter”, which, just like the name suggests, leaves your nails looking like Romeo wrote sweet nothings on your hand.  Check out the website here, or buy them here.

#4: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo

color-tattoo-eyeshadows-by-maybellineNot only do these act as an awesome base underneath your favourite shadows, they also look great all on their own.  The color payoff is amazing, and they really do last all day.  My favourite, and one of the most versatile, is “Bad to the Bronze”: a beautiful shimmery brown that goes great under your favourite earth-toned shadows.  Pick it up here and check out the Maybelline website here.

#5 Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Pallets

wet n wildAt only $5-7.oo each, these pallets are a steal.  They have pigmentation comparable to a much higher priced brand, as well as a soft, blend-able texture.  With only 3-5 pallets in the whole collection, you can (and should) grab them all!  Find these stunners at your local Wal-Mart (or Walgreens), and check out the Wet n Wild website here.

#6: CoverGirl LashBlast Mascara

This mascara receives rave reviews from beauty gurus and makeup artists alike, and it is definitely well deserved.  It leaves your lashes clump free, looking super long, and the formula lasts all day.  Another important factor: it comes off easily at night, so no need to scrub! Pick it up here, and check out the CoverGirl website here.

#7: Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

age rewind

Nothing is worse than an under eye concealer that cakes and fades throughout the day.  Luckily, this product is a concealing all-star that won’t leave you looking like a racoon mid-day. It has a built in applicator, providing a more sanitary option than sticking your fingers in a pot of concealer, and is also a mutli-tasker, working to reduce puffiness and fine lines around the eye area.  Grab your own here, and learn more here.

#8: NYC Liquid Eyeliner

For less than $4.00, this liner is definitely worth trying (no excuses at this price!). Create the perfect cat-eye easily with the tiny brush that allows for buildable application (and less mistakes).  The only downside is that this product only comes in a couple colour options, and will leave you wishing their were way more!  Grab it here, and check out the NYC website here.

#9: Essie Nail Polish in the colour “Butler Please”

butler please

An amazing royal blue colour just in time for the royal baby! Not only is it one of this season’s hottest colours, it goes with a lot more than you’d think.  If you’re conservative, try using it on an accent nail only, or if you’re brave, go all out and paint your fingers and your toes…you won’t regret it! Grab it here, and check out the Essie website while you’re at it.

#10: Hard Candy Fox in a Box Blush

With beautiful colour combinations and a price tag under $8.00, you can’t go wrong with this line of fun boxed blushes.  Each one includes a small brush (though I’d opt for a fuller brush to apply the product), and allows you to mix colours at your leisure to create your favourite combination. My personal favourites are “Smooth Talker” and “Spicy and Sweet”.  Get these exclusively at Wal-Mart, and check out the Hard Candy website here.
