About Me

Where do I start? From as far back as I remember, I always wanted to be a teacher. I worked hard all throughout high school, got into university, then went to teacher’s college and got my Bachelor of Education. I did exactly what I said I was going to do, and I couldn’t be more proud of myself for that. But, life works in mysterious ways, and today I am lucky to be employed…just not as a teacher. I work in a big city, love my job, and feel like my career worked out quite serendipitously.

“In life you don’t always end up where you thought you’d be, but you always end up where you’re meant to be.”

I love the arts. I’ve taught dance, taken singing and guitar lessons, enjoy photography and creative writing, am interested in makeup artistry, have taken sewing lessons, and listen to music somewhat religiously. Everything I truly enjoy is artistic. I also think there is an art to smart shopping, and that frugality encompasses a variety of real-life skills (mathematics and negotiation, anyone?). So, naturally I think this blog marries all of the things I love the most: writing, photography, shopping (while saving money), and teaching others.

“When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.”
