Spring Favourites

With just a couple more weeks of Spring left (helloooo Summer!), I wanted to share some of the products I’ve been loving for the past few months.  Let’s get started!

1. Beauty With a Twist Daily Shampoo and Conditioner*

Created in 2013 by celebrity stylist Oliver Ifergan in an effort to capture the essence of the California lifestyle (palm trees, sandy beaches…basically everything I dream about), Beauty With a Twist’s products are formulated with only the highest quality, certified-organic ingredients.  Their products are not tested on animals, and a portion of their sales are donated to The Beagle Freedom Project to help end animal cruelty.  Their Daily Shampoo and Conditioner smell amazing, (notes of coconut and soft peach), and leave hair feeling soft and moisturized.  Both are formulated without parabens and are sulfate-free, ensuring they protect and preserve colour treated hair.  Beauty With a Twist products can be purchased in Canada exclusively on Amazon.ca.

2. Sahajan Discovery Kit*

This Discovery Kit is like an adult goodie-bag full of nourishing treatments for your face, body, and hair.  All of Sahajan’s products are natural and organic, and are developed and made in Canada (Toronto to be exact!) with eco-friendly and sustainable practices.  This kit is the perfect way to test out some of Sahajan’s products and includes: Nourish Face Cream, Restorative Eye Cream, Protective Face Serum, Nurture Hair Oil, and Ritual Body Oil (plus a handy linen makeup bag and a natural-wood mirror).  All of the products in this kit are impressive; they are nourishing, lightweight, and smell beautiful.  If I had to choose just one favourite (and trust me, it’s hard), it would have to be the Restorative Eye Cream.  A good eye cream is hard to find, and this one left the skin under my eyes feeling soft and moisturized, and looking brighter.  You can purchase this Discovery Kit, or the individual Sahajan products at Toronto’s Blossom Lounge.

3. Skechers Flex Appeal Sneakers in “Floral Bloom”

For me, these sneakers were love at first sight (um, hello, do you see those flamingos!?).  Not only are they bright, adorable, and perfect for Summer, they are also extremely comfortable, thanks to their memory foam insoles and stretch mesh panels.  They are light-weight (a women’s size 7 is just 6oz!) and are super flexible, allowing them to bend and flex naturally with your feet.

4. NYX Lip Lingerie in “Corset”

After reading positive reviews about this colour and formula online, I decided to give it a try.  This product is a matte liquid lipstick with a griege-ish tone.  It is long-lasting, and, as is commonplace for the NYX brand, is affordable without compromising on quality. If you’re looking for a super-unique yet wearable tone to add to your makeup collection, this is it.

5. Prada Candy Eau de Parfum

I’m one of those people who likes to switch up their scent on a daily basis, so it’s not often I find one that ends up on repeat.  I received a sample of this scent about a year ago, and brought it with me on a trip to Mexico.  Now, maybe it’s that every time I smell this scent I recall sandy beaches, warm breezes, and pina coladas, but since purchasing a full-sized version a couple of months ago, I still can’t get enough.  With notes of caramel, musk, and vanilla, this scent is soft and sweet with a nice warmth to it, just like a Summer night.

Spa Day Essentials Featuring Blossom Lounge

With a long weekend just a couple of days away, it’s the perfect time to prepare for some rest and relaxation.  And hey, why not make your extra day off feel like one spent at the spa?  Today, I’m featuring 3 fun products to help you do just that.  All can be purchased at Blossom Lounge, located in Toronto’s Distillery District (I’ve featured them previously here and here). Be sure to follow them on social media (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) to stay up to date on new arrivals and more!

1. Graydon Clinical Luxury Superfood Mask + Scrub

This unique mask gently exfoliates and brightens skin, and is formulated with 19 superfoods (including papaya, matcha green tea, white willow bark, cinnamon, activated charcoal, and more!).  Each mask is individually portioned in a vegetable-derived capsule to ensure the product stays as fresh as possible, without oxidizing.  So how do you use it?  With clean, dry hands, simply break open a capsule (learn more here), mix it with your favourite creamy cleanser, soap, or face oil, and massage it into your skin.  Leave it on for as long as you’d like (try for at least 3-5 minutes), and then rinse off with water.  Repeat up to 3 times per week.  For an even more natural touch, try mixing the mask with ingredients such as full-fat yogurt, raw honey, coconut oil, or mashed avocado instead of your cleanser!

 2. Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in “Subtly Sassy”

This nail polish is the perfect everyday, cool-toned, nude (seriously, it matches everything).  But aside from being the perfect shade, it’s also an impressive, long-wearing polish: mine lasted a week with just a basic base and top coat.  The rich, creamy, 7-free formula only requires 1-2 coats, which, let’s be real, is a rarity in the light-toned, cream-polish world.  Another perk?  It’s also vegan and cruelty free.

 3. Coal and Canary Candle in “Gimme Some Sugar”

This candle’s unique notes of brown sugar, honey, yam, and vanilla, make it the perfect cozy-up-and-relax scent (and may also make you crave baked goods!).  Hand poured and made in small batches, these Canadian-made candles are created with only the highest quality soy/vegetable wax blends and fragrance oils.  The wooden wick burns cleanly (no smoke or soot here!) and provides a soothing crackle when lit. What I love most about the brand, aside from their unique scents, are their fun, catchy product names.  Some examples: “Good Beats & Eatin’ Sweets“, “Hiking Trails and Breaking Nails“, and “Peach Pies & Cute French Guys“.   Coal and Canary candles are 8 ounces each, and the burn time is an impressive 45-50 hours.

5 Products to Help Heal and Hide a Breakout

Breakout Survival Kit

First off, happy New Year!  I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday season.  My holidays were filled with lots of food, fun, and family activities, and unfortunately, a breakout that proved trying on my nerves and emotions.  I’d struggled with acne for a few years in my late teens and early twenties, but have been lucky enough to have it under control for the past 5 years or so.  In early November of last year, my skin went crazy.  After changing all of my makeup, skincare, laundry detergent, even pillows, I finally came to the realization that it was likely a hormonal breakout (lucky me).  Let’s face it (pun intended): acne is not fun, but the good news is that there are some amazing products out there that can help you treat, heal, and hide your breakouts.  Today, I want to share with you 5 of the products that have helped me out these past few months; ones that I’m super happy to have found and will continue to use long after I’ve broken up with my breakout.

1. Neutrogena Naturals Acne Foaming Scrub

What I love about this scrub is that it’s gentle but effective.  Naturally derived salicylic acid treats your breakout while also exfoliating by removing dirt, oil, and dead skin.  When you have a breakout, you’ll want to resist the urge to use harsh, grainy exfoliants which will only irritate and inflame your skin.  This cleanser leaves my skin feeling fresh, clean, and calm.  Aside from a few ingredients to help maintain freshness, it is 93% naturally derived, meaning it won’t harm the environment on the way down the drain, either.

2. Vichy Normaderm Tri-Activ Mask

While you can use this product daily as an exfoliating cleanser, my preference is to use it as a mask (1-2 times per week).  Clay, glycolic acid, and salicylic acid create a “peeling effect” on your skin to help with uneven texture, acne, dilated pores, and excess oil (results that last up to 3 days!).  Simply apply the product to cleansed skin, leave on for 5 minutes, and then rinse with warm water, moving your fingertips in circular motions to help further exfoliate the skin.  Oh, and don’t attempt to carry on any serious conversations during the 5 minute drying time: this mask seriously dries and hardens (which is actually really fun to experience).  A soothing agent avoids any dryness or discomfort once the mask is removed, and it is hypoallergenic and safe for sensitive skin.

3. Dermalogica Hydrablur Primer

I was lucky enough to receive samples of this product during the most recent Spark Sessions blogger conference, and haven’t looked back since.  Whether you have acne or not, this product is impressive (for all skin conditions).  Hydrablur locks in moisture (thanks to Abyssinian Seed Oil), decreases the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reduces the appearance of pores (courtesy of Mushroom Extract), mattifies, and enhances skin’s radiance (Wu-Zhu-Yu Fruit Extract boots microcirculation).  Essentially, it creates a soft blurring effect on your skin helping to hide imperfections, while also helping skin look and feel moisturized throughout the day.  You can pair this primer with your favourite foundation, or, thanks to micro-encapsulated tint, you can also wear it alone.  It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and really does create the perfect canvas for makeup application.  Because of all these amazing benefits, this product has proved especially helpful in covering up acne and other imperfections.

4. Vichy Dermablend Corrective Fluid Foundation

This foundation has become one of my all-time favourites.  I went to Shoppers Drug Mart in search of a high-coverage foundation (my exact words: “I’d like the highest coverage humanly possible”), and was recommended this product by the Beauty Boutique representative.  Note: new packaging means you might find it as Dermafinish instead of Dermablend.  This foundation is extremely lightweight, but provides impressive, full coverage (so much so, that you might not even need a concealer).  It boasts an impressive 16 hour wear, has SPF 30, and is non-drying.  It’s hypoallergenic, allergy tested, and is safe for sensitive skin.  I wear the shade 25 Nude and like to apply this product with my fingers.  I apply a base coat first, and if needed, go over any visible imperfections with a second layer.  Highly recommend!

5. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer

Until recently when my breakout started, I wasn’t able to fully appreciate the coverage abilities of this product.  It applies evenly, is non-drying (in fact it moisturizes the skin), and builds from medium to full coverage.  I pair mine (in the shade “Custard”) over top of the foundation above, and they blend perfectly.  This concealer is also effective at covering dark circles, hiding fine lines and wrinkles, and reducing redness.  Perfect for all skin types and in a range of 10 shades, there’s a reason why it’s a blogger, vlogger, and makeup artist favourite!

Beauty Innovations to Make Your Fall Days a Breeze

Fall Beauty Innovations

As someone who’s not much of  a “morning person” to begin with, Fall’s late sunrises certainly do not make things any easier (not to mention the cooler, drier temperatures that wreak havoc on your hair and skin).  The good news, is that there are some awesome (and fun) products available to help you make your Fall mornings and days easier, and some that may even allow you to catch a few extra zzz’s.

1. Deborah Lippmann “Genie In A Bottle” Illuminating Nail Tone Perfector

In Fall especially, I love a gorgeous oxblood or navy nail polish.  But we all know the frustration that is removing it: stained nails and cuticles, and yellowed tips…ugh.  However this handy polish by Deborah Lippmann is changing the Fall nail game.  Simply apply a coat under your favourite polish to  protect and enhance your natural nail tone.  You can also wear it on its own for natural, luminous looking nails.

2. Urban Decay Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil

Much like my choice of nail colour, Fall also inspires me to bring out my darker berry, brown, and purple lipsticks and glosses.  After all, what better way to change up your look than with a statement lip, right?  The problem is, sometimes the “statement” is that your carefully-applied lipstick is now feathering and bleeding outside the lines (grrr!).  Solution? Urban Decay’s Ultimate Ozone Multipurpose Primer Pencil.  Line the outside of your lips with this clear pencil for long-lasting lip colour that stays where it’s applied.  Want even more staying power?  Apply it under your lipstick to help it last all day.  But wait, it gets even better.  You can also use this product as a primer when covering up blemishes and fine lines, and as a beauty eraser to correct any makeup mishaps (example: for those fun times when your mascara ends up on your cheek instead of your eyelashes).  This multi-tasker is a Fall must-have!

3. Conair InfinitiPro “The Ultimate Brush”

The dry air this time of year means there’s a good chance that your freshly straightened hair is going to be visited by Fall’s good friend: static electricity.  And no matter how much product or water you add, sometimes it just seems as if it’s never going to leave.  This handy hair innovation by Conair, “The Ultimate Brush“, contains a battery-powered (2X AAA) ionic generator that acts to “neutralize the static charge, smoothing the cuticle for an instant shiny, frizz-free finish” (conaircanada.ca).  That’s right, the static in your hair can now be turned off with the slide of a switch. Dreams do come true.

4. Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer

Now that we have our dry, static-y hair problem solved, it’s time to show some love to our skin.  There’s two things about applying moisturizer that frustrate me: 1. waiting for your skin to dry after the shower, and 2. waiting to get dressed while your moisturizer soaks in.  Luckily, this Wet Skin Moisturizer by Jergens solves both of these problems.  Simply apply to your skin before you exit the shower, and then pat dry with a towel (no need to rinse!)  Because your pores are open from the heat of  the shower, your skin is more receptive to absorbing moisture.  In fact, studies have shown this product actually moisturizes 2X’s more, and in half the time, than with ordinary lotion.  In a nutshell, this means you can sleep in a little longer and have gorgeous, moisturized skin.  Where can I sign up for a lifetime supply?

How I Style: Foxy Originals Austin Necklace

Foxy 2

Over the years my Foxy Originals collection has continued to grow, and this piece, (the Austin Necklace in Silver), is by far one of my favourites.  This necklace features a handful of recent trends: tassels, studs, bars, and a long-length lariat-style.

Foxy 4

Made of pewter and plated in silver, (you can also purchase this necklace in gold), the Austin Necklace is high quality, affordable, and is extremely versatile (dress it up or down).  I even tried my hand at wearing it as a headpiece (using three bobby pins), shown below!

Foxy 3

I’ve been a longtime fan of Foxy Originals jewelry (I also included them in my holiday gift guide).  All of their pieces are locally designed and produced in Canada, and can be purchased online or in hundreds of stores internationally (they are also a celebrity favourite!).

Do you own any Foxy Originals pieces?  Let me know in the comments below!

November/December Favourites

November December Favourites
It’s hard to believe that 2015 is just around the corner (a.k.a: tomorrow).  From smooth skin, to the perfect blowout, to a beautifully scented room, November and December have introduced me to some awesome beauty and fashion items, which are sure to help start the new year off right.  Here we go!

1. Mac Lipstick in “Rebel” $19.00

I had heard great things about this lipstick, and was lucky enough to receive it as a Christmas gift this year.  The colour is perfection and I love the way it changes depending on the amount you apply: a rich purple if applied with a heavier hand, and a pretty pinkish-berry colour if applied thinly.  Long lasting and with a satin finish, this lipstick is surprisingly wearable (don’t be scared by the colour in the tube!).  There’s a reason it’s a Mac best seller (and I now know why)!

2. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day 5-in-1 Styling Treatment $18.00

When it comes to hair care products, I tend to have my tried-and-true: I’m not super adventurous.  I received this product in sample format from Sephora, and decided to give it a try.  To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much: how can one product really make your blow-dried hair look any better?  Well, it turns out it can.  This product is oil and silicone free, so it is weightless and doesn’t look greasy, and my after using it, my hair looked voluminous, polished, and much less frizzy than normal.  Fun fact: after trying and loving Living Proof products, Jennifer Aniston became a co-owner!

3. Scentsy Deluxe Warmer in “Leopard” $36.00

I was recently invited to a Scentsy party, and was excited to purchase my very first warmer.  After debating between 3 warmers, (including the Vintage Teapot and Paris warmers), I decided on the Leopard one.  There are a number of things I love about these warmers, and I use mine nearly every day.  First, they’re safe: no need to worry about an open flame, or forgetting to blow it out.  They’re also effective: one scent cube lasts around 8 hours and really does fill the entire room with fragrance.  Some of my favourite scents?  Satin Sheets, Vanilla Suede, Business Casual (think: a man’s cologne), and Sugar (which smells exactly like Pink Sugar perfume).

4. Tarte Prismatic Eye Color Enhancing Shadow Palette For Rich Brown Eyes $14.00

Initially, this palette was a bit of an impulse-purchase when Sephora had their “extra 20% off sale items” event.  On sale for $17.00 (already a great deal), I purchased this for around $13.60 after the extra 20% off.  The colours in this palette are beautiful: rich, pigmented, and yes, they really do make brown eyes “pop”.  While it is no longer available on the Sephora website, Tarte does offer similar colours if you’re interested in re-creating this palette.  I highly recommend it!

5. Jergens BB Body Perfecting Skin Cream $9.97

I received this product in my Spark Sessions gift bag, and have been using it daily ever since.  In just as little as 5 days, you’ll notice your skin is more hydrated, illuminated, even, and firm.  It applies smoothly, smells great (a mix of floral and musky notes), and comes in two tone-matching formulas: one for light skin tones, and one for medium-deep skin tones.

Here’s to many more fashion and beauty favourites in 2015!

May/June Favourites

May June Favourites

Here we are, right in the middle of 2014 (can you believe it!?).  June is one of my favourite months: a) because it’s the month of my birthday, and b) because Summer beauty and fashion is in full swing.  Check out some of my favourites for the months of May and June, below!

1.  Bluenotes Short Sleeve Boyfriend Tunic-$8.00

I have been in constant search of a loose-fitting, plain t-shirt that is long enough to wear with leggings (I’m one of those people who doesn’t believe that leggings are pants).  So, when I discovered these (ridiculously affordable) tunics from Bluenotes, I grabbed them in nearly every colour.  They are lightweight, soft, and the perfect length (they look great with jeans too).  I also love the crew-neck, which is perfect for pairing with statement necklaces.

2.  Addition Elle Turquoise Stone Pendant Necklace-$15.00

I received a 40% off coupon for my birthday, and decided to go check out the jewelry at Addition Elle.  They were having a 2-for-$22.00 deal on some of their jewelry, and this was the 2nd piece I chose.  What drew me to this necklace was its extra long length, as well as its simplicity; I’ve been wearing it non-stop since I purchased it!

3. Julep Clean Slate Conditioning Nail Polish Remover & Pump-$14.00 ($11.20 for Mavens)

The thing I hate more than waiting for nail polish to dry, is the mess it can make (and the time it takes) when removing it.  This polish remover is my new favourite for a few reasons: 1. the pump makes it extra-easy to remove polish with one hand, 2. it prevents spills since you don’t tip the bottle, and 3. the remover is effective, so a little goes a really long way.  You can also purchase refills, so no need to buy a new pump every time (and you’ll get a 20% discount and free shipping as a monthly Maven).

4.  Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Medium Brown-$27.00

Up until recently, I had been using Anastasia’s Brow Powder Duo to fill in my brows.  While I still really enjoy (and use) this product, I’ve been loving the Brow Wiz pencil, due to its precision application and all-in-one packaging (double ended applicator: one side is the pencil, the other is a brush).  The thin tip pencil doesn’t require sharpening, and allows you to easily create natural looking brows that last all day.

5. Eco Tools Skin Perfecting Brush-$7.99

I’ve been a long-time fan of Eco Tools brushes.  They are affordable, long-lasting, and most importantly, they don’t shed on your face.  It drives me crazy when I “invest” in some department store brushes, and then they leave bristles all over my face (is anyone with me on this one?!).  Eco Tools brushes are an impressive value for money, and I’m especially loving this Skin Perfecting Brush that is designed for the application of BB creams, CC creams, and tinted moisturizers.  It buffs product into the skin beautifully, and makes it easier to achieve even coverage.

6. O.P.I. Nail Lacquer in “Don’t Bossa Nova Me Around”-$9.95

While I love unique, fun nail polish colours (the brighter, the better), I’m also really fond of neutrals for Summer.  This gorgeous, creamy polish applies evenly with just 2 coats, and is also quite the chameleon: while it is described as a light pink crème, in some lights it looks purple,  and in others it even looks beige.  However, what I love most about it, is how great it looks with a tan!

Best of the Brightest: My Top Lipstick Picks for Summer

Summer LipsFluorescent orange, bright purple, hot pink: I’ve never met a lipstick I wouldn’t try (at least not yet). In my opinion, I think people underestimate how wearable these colours can be, not to mention the time they can save you in the morning (more sleep? Now I’ve got your attention). Think of it this way: the brighter the lip colour, the more understated you want the rest of your makeup to be. No need to spend time layering shadows, blending, and lining your eyes; simply apply some mascara and blush along with your standout lipstick of choice, and you’re on your way.  The 3 lipsticks, pictured above, are my current top picks for Summer (in order from left to right).

1. Maybelline Colour Sensational Vivids in “Vibrant Mandarin”

In the tube, this colour looks like your basic orange lipstick, but when applied it wears as a gorgeous, almost fluorescent, orange.  The word “fluorescent” may sound scary to some, but trust me, it has the perfect amount of red in it to make it completely wearable.  It is by far, one of the most unique lip colours I have encountered this season.

2. Revlon ColorBurst Lacquer Balm in “Coquette”

When it comes to lipstick, my most often-occurring (and slightly unhealthy) obsession is with finding the perfect pink.  Everything from deep fuchsias to baby pinks, I love (and seem to need) them all.  This shade by Revlon is definitely one of my favourites for Summer: it applies evenly, is long lasting, and has the perfect amount of shimmer in it.

3.  bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in “Lead the Way”

As you can see from the picture, the colour of this lipstick in the tube is quite different from the way the lipstick wears.  What’s great about it, is that the colour changes based on the amount you apply.  If applied sheer, it wears as a pretty berry/wine colour, and when applied with a heavier hand, it appears more of a deep wine/purple tone.  It would also be fun to play with different glosses over this lipstick, as I’m sure you’d come out with a ton of colour variations.  This is what also makes it a great year-round lipstick (but hey, it’s almost Summer, let’s not rush things).

Tried any of these for yourself? Have any of your own favourites for this Summer? Let me know in the comments below!

January/February Favourites!

January-February Favourites

1. Dior Crème de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm

What I love about this lip balm is that it can be worn day or night.  Use it as a lip treatment while you sleep, or wear it to school or work in place of (or underneath) a lipstick or gloss.  The baby-pink tone flatters nearly every skin tone, and can be subtle or more intense depending on how much you apply.  The rose scent is pretty (not overpowering), the formula has SPF 10, and the packaging is chic and durable.  A little more expensive than your typical Chapstick, this balm is definitely worth the splurge (around $29.00).

2.  Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner in Black

This is one of the best liquid liners I’ve ever used.  It provides rich, pigmented colour, a smooth application (no tugging), and has a tip that makes it easy to create both thick, thin, and cat-eye style lines (with a marker-style tip).  The waterproof formula ensures it stays in place throughout the day, but yet still washes off easily at night.

3.  JESSICA (by Sears) Women’s ‘Ibenawen’ Leather Platform-Heel Pump

For about 6 months, I was on the hunt for a pair of leather shoes that have leather insoles.  I was close to giving up, when I came across these pumps at Sears.  An extremely reasonable price for an all-leather shoe ($59.99), I picked up both the matte and patent black.  I was prepared to be uncomfortable the first day (as most leather shoes need time to stretch), but was surprised to find that they fit perfectly right from the start; no blisters, irritations, or soreness.  After about 2 weeks of wearing them, they still fit like a glove.  I also love that they are the perfect height.  They are tall enough to lengthen your legs (3.5 inches), but the platform makes them easy to walk in and adds extra comfort (the leather insoles are also cushioned).  Depending on the season, these shoes come in different colours (currently, I’m lusting over the “Cognac” pair).  I was lucky enough to find last season’s pairs in blue and beige, and got them for $23.00!

4. Buxom Full-On™ Lip Cream in “White Russian”

This lip gloss is creamy, shiny, and is the perfect pink tone.  It has a temporary plumping effect (with a slight cool, tingling sensation), but provides your lips with vitamins A and E to keep them soft and hydrated.  No shimmer or sparkle to be found in this gloss, which makes for a nice, clean finish to a smoky-eye or dramatic eye makeup look.

5. American Eagle Hi-Rise Jegging in “Clean Rinse”

For me, finding the perfect pair of jeans can seem next to impossible.  They’re either too short, too long, not the right shade of blue, don’t fit my waist properly, or most annoyingly: too low.   Luckily, more and more stores are offering higher-rise versions of their jeans, including American Eagle.  For these jeans, it was love at first try-on.  They are stretchy like a legging, a rich indigo blue that matches nearly everything (and have no feathering or pre-purchase rips), and are the perfect rise (just below the belly button).  I also love that they are skinnies, so they can be worn with heels or tucked into boots.  Interested? American Eagle always has great sales on, so be sure to follow them via email for updates on current promotions (up to 40% off and free shipping).

6.  Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Studs Kit

This fun set creates endless nail-art opportunities.  It includes 3 vials of studs (black, silver/metal, and clear), and also includes a handy nail-art pick up tool.  No glue necessary, simply apply the studs when polish becomes tacky (approximately 30 seconds after polishing), and then cover with a top coat.  This set is extremely affordable and  can make a plain polish seem that much more exciting (accent nail, anyone?).

October/November Fashion and Beauty Favourites!

November Favourites1. “AE Chambray Shirt” by American Eagle Outfitters

This shirt is soft, durable, and extremely comfortable, which means you’ll want to (and can) wear it every day.  A wardrobe staple, it can be worn endless ways: wear it open over your favourite tee or tank, tie it and wear it as a shrug over your favourite Summer dress to help transition it to Fall, layer it underneath a cozy sweater, or simply wear it buttoned up with a great statement necklace on top (my personal fave).   My favourite thing about this top?  The neutral coloured buttons allow you to wear any colour jewellery you’d like (no need to match the gold or silver toned hardware on this beauty!).

2. “Dropping By” Necklace by Mark (Avon)

I have been a fan of the Mark brand for quite some time.  What I love about this necklace is that it’sMark Necklace reversible: one side has sparkle, the other is a matte-silver tone. You also have the option to adjust the length (24.5-33 inches).  It’s easy to match, unique, and great quality.  Feeling adventurous? Try layering it with shorter necklaces for extra pizazz!

3. Jennifer Aniston Eau de Parfum

This is one of my favourite celebrity-inspired perfumes, which I purchased when it was first released, but recently rediscovered.  This perfume has notes of jasmine, violet, rose water, amber, sandalwood, musk, and more.  Floral enough for the Summer, but musky enough for the Fall,  you can reach for this scent all year round.  Cool fact? A fan of Summer days at the beach, Jennifer Aniston even designed the bottle to look like a cresting wave.

4.  Mineral Powder Blotting Tissues by The Body Shop

As someone who struggles with oily skin on a day-to-day basis, these blotting sheets are heaven-sent.  A true multi-tasker, this product removes oil from the face, while also distributing a small amount of mattifying mineral powder.  Fool proof as it’s made for all skin types, and wallet friendly at just $5.00 for 65 sheets, grab a pack for the car, your purse, your desk…you get the idea!

5. AEO Statement Ring” by American Eagle Outfitters

This ring has been my go-to since I purchased it last month.  It is big and bold enough to make a statement, yet light and thin enough to be extremely comfortable.  With pretty, intricate detailing, including 3 rhinestones for shine, this ring looks great paired with your favourite dark nail polish.

6. Rhinestone Button Earrings by Payless Shoe Source

Sparkly yet elegant and simple, these extremely affordable earrings go with nearly everything.  Pair them with a pretty up-do to show them off, or your leave your hair down for some unexpected sparkle when you “happen” to flip your hair.  Not a fan of the gold tone? They also come in silver, here.

7. Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in “Galactic”

This is by far, one of the coolest drugstore nail polishes I have found in a long time.  The double ended stick provides both a glossy base coat, and a sparkly, opalescent top coat.  The base coat was so thick and pigmented, I only need 1 coat prior to applying the top coat.  The effect that these polishes give is really unique, and is far from the simple glitter top coats you find in nearly every brand’s lineup.  Check out the Revlon website for all the fun and unique ways you can wear this polish.  The only downside is that it is a little difficult and messy to remove.  The upside? It lasts a really long time, and the compliments will be well worth it!

8. Harmonie Necklace by Aldo in “Light Green”

For me, this necklace was love at first sight (and it was on sale…don’t you just love when the stars align?).  Pair it with a simple crew neck t-shirt or sweater and you’ll go from a lazy Sunday afternoon, to a Friday night on the town.  Not only does it shine beautifully, it’s also extremely durable and has substantial weight to it.  It also comes in other colours, depending on the season.  Keep an eye out for them on the Aldo website, here.

Proof that these really are some of my favourite things this month?  You can find me wearing the shirt, ring, and necklace from this list in the picture from my previous post, here!
