Farmacy Lip Blooms: Natural Ingredients for Soft, Smooth Lips

A good lip balm is hard to find.  You want something that moisturizes and protects your lips, but also one that looks and feels nice (and if it can double as a lipstick or gloss, even better!).  Personally, I use lip balms around the clock: before bed to moisturize overnight, in the morning to prep my lips for lipstick, and during the day to revive my lip colour.

I was presented with the opportunity to review Farmacy Beauty’s Lip Bloom in “Lavender Mint”, and was excited to give it a try.  I’ve seen their products at Sephora, and have heard great things about their skincare made from farm-grown, hand-picked ingredients.  Their trademarked ingredient (and one that can be found in their Lip Blooms) is Echinacea GreenEnvy (a variant of Echinacea Purpurea), which is a natural antioxidant that helps protect and firm the skin, and inhibit collagen breakdown.  In fact, the Echinacea GreenEnvy is cultivated in upstate New York and travels only 2 hours to the Farmacy lab, where it is then cold-pressed.  Farmacy’s Lip Blooms also contain Castor Seed Oil and Sunflower Seed Oil for hydration, smoothness, and protection of the delicate skin on the lips.

So what do I think of the Lavender Mint Lip Bloom? Aside from the pretty (not overpowering) scent, what I love most about this product is its versatility.  You can wear it as a lip balm on its own, pair it over top of a lipstick for a glossy shine, or even wear it on the eyelids over top or underneath eye shadow for a high-fashion, dewy finish.  The packaging is simple, chic, and compact, making it perfect to throw in your purse or makeup bag.  It applies smoothly and evenly, is a nice (not sticky) consistency, and leaves lips feeling soft and moisturized.

Lip Blooms are available for purchase on the Farmacy Beauty website and also in-store and online at Sephora.  Other flavours include Strawberry Basil, Honey Ginger, Vanilla Mint, Citrus Lemongrass, and Apple Rosemary. Yum!

Have you tried Farmacy’s Lip Blooms, or any of their other products?  Let me know in the comments below!

The Best Deals are Just a Click Away: ShopSultry.com

Shop Sultry

Let’s face it: the ability to shop online (in your yoga pants and no makeup) is great, but sometimes sorting through hundreds or thousands of items, searching for the best deals, can be a bit of a daunting task.  Enter ShopSultry.com, your online source for the best deals from top retailers (Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Anthropologie, and more!).  Each item on the site is hand-curated to include only the most fashion-forward pieces at the greatest prices.  Some of my favourites? The Jessica Simpson “Chandra” Mules (shown above, top right), which are on sale at 61% off the regular price!  And how perfect for Fall is this gorgeous red Michael Kors “Bedford” Tote (shown above, bottom left), on for 40% off?!

Sultry adds new retailers each week, and shopping the collection is a breeze with the ability to sort by price, brand, store, or category.  Have a budget of $40.00 this week? I sorted by price and found hundreds of items at this price-point.  And be sure to check Sultry out on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram while you’re at it.  Happy shopping!

This Counts: Shopping with a Purpose (+Giveaway!)

This Counts 6

A running joke with my boyfriend is that I “fake online shop”: I sometimes browse a website, put all of my wishlist items in my cart, and then walk away because the shipping charges are outrageous. So, one of the things I instantly loved when introduced to a Canadian e-commerce retail site, This Counts, was that they offer free shipping on all items (AND all listed prices include taxes!). What I love even more than the free shipping, is what the site stands for: giving back. A portion of the sale of every single item goes to a charity supported by the retailer: with every purchase you make, you’re changing and saving lives around the world.  And, if you’re curious to see which charity the retailer supports, just click on the item to find out!

On the This Counts site, you can easily share items, and create boards to keep track of your wishlists (which you’ll want to do, as the site continues to grow everyday!).  You can shop by store, by item, or by collection.  There’s something to be found for everyone: from electronics, to men’s and women’s clothing and accessories, to home decor.  They have a wide variety of pieces ranging from classic to super unique, and their prices are extremely reasonable.  Curious to know what’s on my wishlist?  I thought you’d never ask (keep reading for a giveaway and promo code!).

Let’s be honest, sometimes navigating the inside of our purses can seem….puzzling.  How awesome is this Rubiks Cube Purse (supporting the Breakfast Club of Canada)!?

Don’t get me wrong, I love my iPad, but sometimes I just want to read a good old-fashioned hard copy book.  This “Once Upon a Time” bookmark set ensures you won’t lose your page, and is a gorgeous conversation piece.
